My approach

As your therapist, I aim to be a trusted confidant and ally on this path of learning and growing. My style is highly interactive, relational, and customized to address your specific challenges and goals.  I believe our relationship can become an incredible access point for addressing the impact and manifestations of the unconscious, archetypal, relational, and energetic forces that are at play in your life as well as

The pillars of my practice are rooted in Depth psychology, Self-inquiry, Parts Work, Shadow Work, Somatic Embodiment which I have briefly described below:

Self-inquiry is a process of introspection and self-exploration. It involves reflecting inwardly and questioning one's underlying assumptions and beliefs about Life - especially the ones that cause us stress. We ask open-ended questions to foster self-awareness and understanding of our experiences and the nature of the Self. Self-inquiry is used in spiritual and philosophical traditions, such as Advaita Vedanta and Zen Buddhism, as well as in the modern-day practice called "The Work" of Byron Katie.

Parts Work also known as Internal Family Systems (IFS) therapy, is an approach that acknowledges the presence of different parts or subpersonalities within an individual's psyche. It recognizes that our minds consist of various internal aspects and aims to cultivate a harmonious relationship between the parts and the core self or authentic essence of a person. As you learn to listen to and communicate with your parts, you become the wise leader of your inner world; addressing internal conflicts, tending to emotional wounds, and directing the energy released from out-dated protective strategies into creative collaborations and solutions for your everyday challenges.

Shadow Work is the process of illuminating and exploring that which has been hidden or suppressed from one's awareness due to trauma and/or cultural and familial conditioning inherited through the collective. The shadow represents the parts of ourselves that we deem unacceptable and all of the undesirable aspects of our personality that we have disowned or denied. Why venture into this territory? Because our unconscious plays an enormous role in the creation of our experience. As Carl Jung famously said, "until you make the unconscious conscious, it will direct your life and you will call it fate."

Somatic Embodiment & Relational Integration are strategies and techniques which target nervous system regulation and mind-body-heart coherence. These practices consist of roleplay, movement, language for effective communication, and relational collaboration to aid in the embodiment of new ways of being. These practices open up a range of response options, increase your emotional tolerance for positive and negative emotional content, and create the space to step out of what is familiar into what is most effective, honest, and true.
